Designer
Peter Done is a British menswear designer with a background in architecture. His early training shaped an instinct for structure, balance, and considered construction, yet he was increasingly drawn to a more immediate form of design—one that could be touched, worn, and lived in.
Menswear became a natural progression. Peter designs garments defined by proportion, function, and material. Fabric choice sits at the centre of his process, considering how each piece moves, wears, and endures over time.
His work is rooted in luxury workwear for everyday life. Inspired by nature, the outdoors, and travel, his collections draw on the textures, colours, and patterns found in the world around us.
Living in France, Italy, and Greece exposed Peter to changing landscapes, conditions and ways of life—experiences that continue to inform his approach to design, observing how clothing adapts to place, season, and necessity.
Shaped by the contrast between mountains and sea, these experiences led to the creation of Monmare—a name born from montagne and mare, reflecting the balance between permanence and fluidity that defines the brand.
